Our Efforts
At Friends of the Harp, we find ways to make harp and music education accessible in many diverse way.
Please consider supporting our efforts through participation, donating a harp, or making a financial contribution.
With minimal fixed operating costs and 100% volunteer-run operations, we ensure that nearly all donations directly benefit our service initiatives
Music for Everyone Program
We collaborate with NGOs to create diverse experiences that promote knowledge, appreciation and the healing qualities of the harp.
Harp Learning: We typically provide harps and tuition at no cost, while NGOs may charge a reduced fee to cover their out-of-pocket expenses. Overall, these projects are significantly subsidized or completely free to enable end-users to receive harp learning or benefit from healing and rehabilitation sessions.
Harp Outreach: This service is delivered by our volunteers, who perform music and offer harp taster sessions. They visit NGOs at no cost to the organizations, with all harp-related expenses covered by us.
Our Music-for-Everyone Program consists of two interconnected aspects:
Music for Everyone:
Harp OUTREACH
We collaborate with various harp communities, NGOs, and corporations to conduct diverse forms of harp outreach, bringing the harping experience to different segments of society.
Our initiatives include outreach visits, rehabilitation programs, harp taster sessions, and concerts. A typical visit lasts about an hour and is hosted by an NGO's service center, featuring music performances, storytelling, chi-chatting, and brief harp taster activities with the service users. Our visits assist NGOs in promoting social integration by fostering more interactions with their service users Additionally, we sometimes arrange a series of introductory courses to give interested service users a trial experience with the harps.
Many of these programs are initiated by volunteers, and we rely on their advocacy and support to sustain our services.
Here are some outreach collaborators we work with or serve:
